Top Pennsylvania Golf Courses

May 10, 2018 By Charlie Parker Leave a Comment

Pennsylvania Offers Range Of Golf

It’s not easy deciding among the various golf options across Pennsylvania. This is one state where you almost have to throw a dart at the map and go have some fun with more than 500 public-access golf courses.

The amount of history in The Keystone State makes planning a golf trip seem like a distraction even to avid golfers. Once you’re on one of the many incredible courses, though, you’ll only be in tune with the present state of your golf game.

Golf in Pennsylvania ranges from big-city convenience to the wild forests to mountain ranges to some of the best municipal courses around. Get started, get going and take in the key courses of this original state.

Pittsburgh Powers Golf

You can’t go wrong by starting your PA golf trip in Pittsburgh, home to past major championships and The Bob O’Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park. You’ll have to stretch a little outside the city  center and head over to the two courses at South Park Golf Course in South Park or to Riverview Golf Course in Elizabeth. \

Don’t miss Grand View Golf Club in Braddock and the highly-rated Scenic Valley Golf Course in Finleyville. This championship course has garnered accolades in multiple top-100 golf course listings in the country.

Bouncing further outside the city to the north and east, you’ll find golf in the wilds of the state. Scottish Heights Golf Club in Brockport and Bavarian Hills Golf Course in Saint Marys offer high-rated courses. There’s more in Du Bois at the DuBois Country Club and two courses at Treasure Lake. You’ll get your fill of mountains, forests and well-designed courses in the wilds of PA.

Catch The Back Roads Golf

The best way to play golf in upstate Pennsylvania is hitting the links in communities near larger towns such as Scranton. Scranton Hills Municipal Golf Course is in Mount Cobb while Pine Hills Country Club in Taylor offers 18- and 9-hole courses. You can add in Summit Hills Golf Club in Clarks Summit or Emanon Country Club in Falls.

Making your way south to Allentown, you’ll find Allentown Municipal/Benner Fairways Golf Course and Iron Lakes Golf Course. Nearby Wedgewood Golf Club in Coopersburg offers three highly-rated 9-hole courses. Locus Valley Golf Club here is rated as one of the best courses in the nation in several listings.

Press on to 18- and 9-hole links at Bethlehem Golf Club and Green Pond Golf Course in Bethlehem. There’s also the Southmoore Golf Course in Bath and Fox Hollow Golf Club in Quakertown.

These are great courses along a historic corridor in Pennsylvania.

Dutch Country Golf Trip

It’s tough travelling through Dutch country without shopping and eating the entire trip. You’ll need a few extra rounds of golf to forget the shopping expenses and burn off the added calories. Harrisburg gets you started with Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, Sportsmans Golf Course and Colonial Golf & Tennis Club.

Hershey Links in Hummelstown is a must for that sweet tooth and you can burn it off at Highlands of Donegal Golf Club in Mount Joy.

Celebrate Philadelphia Golf

On your way east into Philadelphia, stretch your game over 18 holes at the exceptional Meadia Heights Golf Club in Lancaster. Heading into The City of Brotherly Love, you’ll want to make sure to bring a few extra sleeves of balls for Juniata Golf Course, the two courses at Cobbs Creek Golf Club and Franklin D. Roosevelt Golf Club.

Pennsylvania has a proud and storied history, and a wonderful golf legacy everyone can enjoy.

Top Ohio Golf Courses

April 21, 2018 By Charlie Parker Leave a Comment

Sad, Good And Golf

The sad news about the best golf courses in Ohio is they are spread all across the state. The good news is you’ll enjoy travelling between each exceptional golf destination. Ace Golf Netting knows hidden gems and championship-caliber courses abound in the Buckeye State. You’ll need to be aware of seasonal conditions – there’s no golfing, except at an indoor range, in most of Ohio after Thanksgiving. The next season may not kick in again across the state until late April or early May if it’s a long winter. But when the season is on, the Ohio greenery around the courses amidst the elegant trees or waves of grass is inviting to all. You need to sort through private courses and availability, but there are plenty of public golf courses, so grab all the tee times you can.

World-Class Ohio Golf

Ohio boasts two world-class courses that gain much attention for golf in the state. Muirfield Village Golf Club is located in aptly-named Dublin just north of the state capitol of Columbus. Everything about this course has a soulful connection to the origination of golf in Scotland. Playing here is thrilling in all respects, and demoralizing if you don’t bring your best game. The course personifies all that is golf. Just a few miles east of Dublin lies The Golf Club in New Albany. This course relishes in the challenge of its Pete Dye design. It’s not an everyday golf trip, so take advantage of any opportunity to play here. You’ll discover why so many want to play this course, yet so little is publicized about its intriguing challenges.Best Golf In Ohio

Buckeye Golf Gems

There are a variety of golfing gems scattered across the state. You’ll have to map your own path around the state to find these treasures. We’ll just lay out the list and let you follow your golfing instincts. It will be worth the effort. Here’s our take on which golf gems to search out: Red Hawk Golf Course, Findlay (nationally rated course); Legendary Run Golf Club, Cincinnati; Stonelake Hills Golf Course, Batavia; Majestic Springs Golf Course, Wilmington; Stone Ridge Golf Club, Bowling Green; Quarry Golf Club, Canton; Shale Creek Golf Club, Medina; Inverness Club, Toledo; and The Golf Club at Yankee Trace, Dayton. As with any state with a rich history of golf, you’ll need to seek out courses that fit your skill level and your travel plans.

Golfing Religion

There is an underlying fervor for golf within Ohio. Formal golf promotion has been in place for more than 100 years. At Ace Golf Netting, we know that golfers in the Buckeye State, just like most others around the world, face an ongoing addiction to the sport. For many local golfers, it’s more religion than anything. Most of the state must contend with a limited golfing season due to harsh winter conditions. So, when play opens each year there is a race to hit the links that doesn’t end until the next snow brings everything (except the 19th holes) to a screeching halt. Wherever your travels take you, make sure the road passes by a golf course in Ohio so you can stop, play and enjoy.

Outdoor Nets

June 30, 2017 By Charlie Parker Leave a Comment

From the beginning, you’re going to rely on us for everything that concerns your golf course netting from indoor driving range nets and golf barrier netting! This includes not only the design of the golf range nets, but also the layout, and then the installation. All of these elements have to be carefully considered, in order to ensure that your golf course netting and installation experience is a custom one. It is important to remember the considerable investment of not only your golf course but of essential accessories like the netting.

Invest in good golf course netting now. As a course owner and operator, it will mean having a lot less to worry about later on.

Outdoor Nets

When it comes to your custom golf course barriers, keep in mind that every single aspect of the experience will be customized to suit your needs. The only consistency our clients truly share comes down to the materials that are used in the construction process. We work with only the finest, most durable materials on the planet. We work with materials that make sense for golf courses and driving ranges across the nation. This means a netting solution that will be able to stand up to heat, humidity, rainfall, wind, and just about everything else you can think of.

With our custom golf course netting, you can be certain that you are getting something that will be built to last.

Soil type, prevailing winds, and your neighbors are just a few of the considerations that will be kept in mind, over the course of the construction process. In taking all of these things seriously, we are going to be able to give you a golf course netting solution that is going to be absolutely perfect for you in every possible way. You will have a considerable aid towards offsetting potential damage to cars, other golfers, or even spectators. Netting can also be designed around the need to keep certain parts of your course separated from other parts.

We are going to keep you involved in all aspects of your custom golf course netting. We will work with everything in your area to make sure nothing is left out. With years of industry experience, we can promise that not only will the construction process be a breeze, but also the sometimes complicated task of making sure everything has been installed properly. You are going to have netting that will serve your needs for as long as your course remains.

Ace has been a trusted golf netting supplier for decades and no one offers you better selection, service or more professional installation. Call us today!
